My husband and I have been to Melbourne, Florida several times, and no matter how often we go, there’s always more to explore. This time around we decided to get an Airbnb for the weekend, and what a lovely Airbnb it was! There were quite a few options, but we ultimately went with the one we chose due to everything it had to offer, but more on that later.
If you’ve never been to Melbourne, Florida, this beautiful city along the Space Coast offers visitors plenty of fun things to do, and if you’re looking for fun things to do in Melbourne for couples, then keep reading because I have a list of fun things to do in Melbourne.
Fun Things to Do in Melbourne for Couples
Whether you are in Melbourne as a couple or with friends, the list below includes some fun things you can do in Melbourne! Since Cocoa is close, I’ve also added a few things you can do there and in surrounding cities on the Space Coast.
Happy Hour at Pineapples
You don’t have to be into cocktails and beer to enjoy happy hour. Pineapples does have food, which can be enjoyed on the nice rooftop and you also get happy hour specials. But that’s fine if you don’t make it for happy hour. Pineapples does have lunch and dinner, offering guests a selection of casual fare, seafood, and high-quality meats.
Don’t skip out on the gorgeous river view from the rooftop! It’s a charming setting for those looking for a romantic date.

Stay at The Pineapple Bungalow
From hotels to rentals, there is a variety to choose from. While many places are wonderful, the Pineapple Bungalow is quite cozy and a great stay for couples. If your partner is picky about the places they stay at like mine, this is one place they will be impressed with.
The Pineapple Bungalow has an arcade machine, a record player, a beautiful kitchen, a cozy room, and a laundry area with a washer and dryer, and they also supply you with robes, snacks, and sweet treats to make your stay more memorable.
Get Breakfast at Oui Bake
There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants that serve breakfast, but one of my favorites is the Oui Bake in the downtown Eau Gallie District. While it is a small cafe with limited seats indoors and outdoors, it serves some wonderful croissants, tarts, and breakfast sandwiches. You’ll also find the famous Joan’s perfect pies, ice cream scoops, and more.

Explore the murals in Eau Gallie
Eau Gallie Arts District is an interesting and artsy part of Melbourne. Here you will find a few galleries, shops and restaurants. But aside from that, you’ll also find some beautiful murals around the district. While you can do this with your friends, this is also a fun way to explore the city with your significant other.

Take a trip to Cocoa Beach
As someone who loves to go on day trips, I couldn’t just go to Melbourne without checking out the rest of the Space Coast. After all, there is so much to learn about the launches on the space coast and so much to see. While you shouldn’t skip out on the beach in Melbourne, you should also check out Cocoa Beach! The beach is nice, and the whole town is quite colorful with murals and vibrant buildings.
Explore the town
There are plenty of museums, shops, and restaurants in Cocoa Beach. Near the beach, you’ll find Junk Food Bakery, Cafe Surfinista, Salty Sisters Bar and Grill, the Coastal Market, Coconuts on The Beach, Surfside Playhouse, Wildside Tours, The Dinosaur Store and more!
If you’re a fan of TV towns, then also check out the I Dream of Jeannie Lane sign that can be found next to the entrance to the Lori Wilson Park. While the sitcom was never actually filmed in Cocoa Beach, it was set in this beautiful city.
There is also Cocoa Village, which is a great spot full of shops, restaurants, and a wonderful beer garden.
If you have the time, make your way to Cape Canaveral. Here you’ll find some neat things to do such as The Wizard of Oz Museum, Exploration Tower, and Manatee Sanctuary Park.
Go to Sands Space History Center
This place is incredible and it’s free too! While you could go to the other fun museums in Cape Canaveral such as the Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum, you do not want to miss out on Sands Space History Center, which is conveniently located next to the Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum.

Take a memorable photo with the Orange
While this will only take a few minutes, taking a photo with this big orange is a must! I mean were you even in Melbourne if you don’t take a photo with a big orange? And it makes for a great background in photos.
See Manatees at The Crane Creek Promenade
This was quite a find! It was on the way to the next destination, so we had to stop to check it out. The Crane Creek Promenade offers manatee viewing, but don’t just go there to see manatees because you may or may not see them. At the time of our trip to Melbourne, I didn’t see any manatees at the Promenade, but I wasn’t disappointed as this place is quite beautiful.
You can take a stroll around and even see the yachts lined up by the boardwalk.

Go play Disc Golf or to the Archery Range at Wickham Park
Wickham Park is a huge park! This place also has a bunch of things to do. From Disc Golf to an Archery Range, you’ll spend hours in this park. It’s also a great place for couples looking to get sun and exercise.
The Space Coast is full of things to do, especially when you visit the different cities within the Space Coast. If you decide to stay put in Melbourne, you’ll still be able to find plenty to do.
