Whisky enthusiasts and spirits aficionados, mark your calendars. The highly anticipated WhiskyPLUS event is set to return to Kuala Lumpur for its sixth edition on Saturday, 26 October 2024. Hosted at the Eastin Hotel in PJ Section 16, this single-day extravaganza promises an unparalleled tasting experience for connoisseurs and curious newcomers alike.
Now in its ninth edition, WhiskyPLUS has established itself as Malaysia’s premier whisky and spirits tasting event. This year’s iteration will feature two sessions, each offering unlimited tastings of a diverse array of whiskies and spirits from renowned brand owners, top importers, distributors, and retailers.
Organized by TEG Media, a multi-channel media and events group based in Kuala Lumpur, WhiskyPLUS 2024 is shaping up to be an unmissable event for anyone with an appreciation for fine spirits and the finer things in life.
The spacious 7,200-square-foot main tasting room will serve as the epicenter of the event, where attendees can embark on a journey of discovery through a wide selection of whisky brands and expressions. From familiar favourites to exciting new labels, the event will showcase whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Australia, Japan, India, and beyond.
In an exciting addition to the 2024 event, VIP guests will have exclusive access to spirits tasting masterclasses highlighting the award-winning offerings of Sydney’s Archie Rose Distilling Co. With over 400 domestic and international awards under its belt in just a decade, Archie Rose is set to bring its renowned craftsmanship and innovation to the Malaysian audience.
For those seeking the pinnacle of whisky experiences, the Collector’s Corner returns this year, offering a rare selection of old and limited-edition whiskies available for purchase by the dram. This exclusive space provides connoisseurs with a truly elevated tasting experience in a reserved area.
WhiskyPLUS isn’t just about whisky, though. The event will also feature a fine selection of non-alcoholic beverages, thanks to partnerships with Monin, Mister Coffee, and Spritzer. Additionally, cigar enthusiasts can explore a carefully curated range of hand-rolled cigars, both Cuban and non-Cuban, at a dedicated booth just outside the main tasting room.
Attendees can choose between Gold Pass (Standard entry) and Black Pass (VIP entry) for each of the two sessions: 12pm to 4:30pm and 5:30pm to 10pm. All guests will receive a commemorative Glencairn-style whisky tasting glass and a whisky glass holder lanyard. VIP pass holders will enjoy additional perks, including access to premium whiskies and entry to the exclusive VIP Lounges. There are also group packages (4x passes) available for those who would like to attend with their fellow whisky aficionados.
To ensure an optimal experience, the event is capacity-controlled with limited tickets available for each session. For those looking to make a weekend of it, the Eastin Hotel is offering all-inclusive room rates of RM280 nett, which includes breakfast for two and complimentary parking.
