These Caribbean Islands Are the Most Affordable Summer 2025 Getaways, According to New Data

While traditionally viewed as a winter escape, the Caribbean is rapidly solidifying its reputation as a year-round travel destination — and summer may just be the region’s best-kept secret.

Industry experts have long highlighted the advantages of visiting the Caribbean during the summer months. With fewer crowds, warmer ocean temperatures, and refreshing trade winds that cool the evenings, the off-season offers an ideal blend of comfort and tranquility. In recent years, destinations such as Anguilla have seen noticeable growth in summer tourism, reflecting a broader shift in travel patterns.

But beyond the climate and serenity, it’s the affordability that is capturing the attention of budget-conscious travelers.

According to a new analysis by travel insurance analytics firm Squaremouth, Caribbean destinations are among the most cost-effective choices for summer vacations in 2025. The firm’s findings, based on travel insurance policies purchased prior to April 1 for trips between May 23 and September 1, reveal that The Bahamas is the most affordable Caribbean destination this summer, with an average trip cost of $4,404.

Rounding out the top three are Aruba, with an average trip expenditure of $4,680, and Jamaica at $4,922. Other notable entries on the list include the Dominican Republic ($5,188), Puerto Rico ($5,281), and Turks and Caicos ($5,999).

These figures stand in stark contrast to the overall average cost of a summer vacation in 2025, which Squaremouth reports at $10,346 — a significant 38 percent increase compared to the previous year. Caribbean vacations, in many cases, are priced at less than half of that average, reinforcing the region’s value proposition amid rising global travel costs.

“Rising travel prices are prompting more travelers to actively seek out affordable options,” Squaremouth said in a statement. “The Caribbean stands out as a region where travelers can still enjoy a premium experience at a lower cost.”

The trend is further supported by a decline in airfares to several Caribbean destinations, adding to the region’s appeal for summer travelers looking for both accessibility and value.

As summer travel continues to evolve, the Caribbean’s combination of beauty, convenience, and affordability may very well position it as the season’s top contender for smart, sun-seeking vacationers.
