Alumni Spotlight: Ashley Shihab – From Corporate Burnout to Clarity Coach

Coaching Clients to Live Authentically and Achieve Their Goals 

Ashley Shihab’s transformation from a disenchanted corporate employee to a passionate life coach exemplifies the power of pursuing one’s true calling. A 2019 graduate of the Life Purpose Institute’s Advanced Life Coach Certification program, Ashley now leads a thriving coaching practice based in Dallas, Texas, empowering clients nationwide to discover clarity and authenticity in their lives. 

Discovering Her Life’s Purpose 

In her early twenties, Ashley found herself questioning the traditional corporate path she was on. Despite a successful career in advertising and as an executive assistant, she felt unfulfilled and yearned for something more meaningful. This inner discontent sparked a journey of self-discovery, leading her to explore various avenues such as dance classes, yoga, and personal development books. A pivotal moment came when she volunteered with her sorority, Delta Gamma, at Texas Christian University, where she found immense joy in mentoring students. This experience, coupled with encouragement from her therapist and chance encounters with life coaches, illuminated her true calling: to become a life coach herself. 

Building Her Coaching Practice 

Determined to pursue this newfound passion, Ashley enrolled in the Life Purpose Institute’s Advanced Life Coach Certification program while still working full-time in her corporate job. Over 14 months, she immersed herself in coursework, peer coaching, and business development. By 2019, she launched her coaching practice, Ashley The Life Coach, initially balancing it alongside her corporate responsibilities. Her dedication paid off, and by January 2022, she transitioned to coaching full-time. In January 2024, she embraced solopreneurship, further solidifying her commitment to her clients and her craft.  

Coaching Philosophy and Services 

Ashley’s coaching philosophy centers on the belief that a lack of clarity is often the root cause of stagnation in life. She specializes in guiding adults and teen girls to discover their true selves, define their desires, and develop actionable plans to achieve their goals. Her services extend to entrepreneurs seeking to align their business ventures with their personal values. Beyond one-on-one coaching, Ashley offers motivational speaking engagements, workshops, and independent courses, all designed to inspire and facilitate personal growth. 

Advice for Aspiring Coaches 

Ashley emphasizes the importance of personal development in professional success. She advises,

“If your business growth stalls, it’s because your personal growth has stalled.”

This insight underscores the necessity for coaches to continually engage in self-reflection and growth to effectively support their clients. 

A Life Aligned with Purpose 

Outside of her coaching practice, Ashley enjoys activities that nourish her spirit, such as dance, Pilates, and spending time with her Chihuahua mix, Brutus. She is an avid reader, indulging in both personal growth literature and light-hearted beach reads, and she cherishes moments with her community over good food and conversation.
