Malaysia’s leading whisky and spirits tasting event is preparing for a significant milestone as WhiskyPLUS celebrates its 10th edition on Saturday, 16 August 2025. The event, which marks its seventh year in Kuala Lumpur, will take place at the Crowne Plaza KLCC, one of the city’s newest premium hotels.
The venue change reflects the event’s growing reputation among whisky enthusiasts and newcomers to the spirits world. WhiskyPLUS 2025 will continue its tradition of hosting two sessions, allowing guests unlimited tastings of whiskies and spirits from around the world in the hotel’s grand ballroom.
This year’s programme extends beyond traditional tastings with educational masterclass sessions conducted by several brands, including Duncan Taylor, Prakaan, and Michter’s, and will cover production techniques, regional characteristics, and flavour profiles for those seeking deeper knowledge of whisky appreciation.
The culinary experience has been enhanced for this anniversary edition, featuring gourmet cheese tastings and Malaysia’s T’Lur caviar, all selected to complement the complex flavours of premium whisky. Additionally, Cohiba Atmosphere, recognised as one of Malaysia’s most respected cigar lounges, will host a dedicated booth offering hand-rolled cigars, including Cuban varieties.
Returning features include VIP Lounges with access to exclusive rare and top-shelf whiskies, and the popular Collector’s Corner, where enthusiasts can purchase drams of old or hard-to-find bottles. The event will also feature ice-cold sparkling water from Spritzer, made-to-order brews from Mister Coffee, and refreshing mocktails from Monin.
Attendees can choose from three ticket options: Standard, VIP, or Whisky Explorer passes. Each ticket includes a commemorative Glencairn-style whisky tasting glass with the 2025 logo and a glass holder lanyard, plus a delicious set meal box. VIP guests receive access to premium pours, exclusive areas, and priority registration for whisky masterclasses.
To maintain quality and comfort, WhiskyPLUS operates as a capacity-controlled event with limited tickets for each session. Session 1 runs from 12:00pm to 4:30pm, while Session 2 operates from 5:30pm to 10:00pm. Both sessions offer similar attractions, though some exhibitors and highlights may vary between sessions.
TEG Media, the event organiser with years of experience delivering quality spirits experiences to Malaysian enthusiasts, returns to host this milestone edition. The company, which began with The Expat magazine in 1996, has expanded into a leading multi-channel media and events group serving English-speaking audiences throughout Malaysia.
Entry passes begin at RM118 for the Whisky Explorer shorter-session option. Full event details and ticket information are available at www.whiskyplus.my
