Southern Charm Meets Modern Design with Theresa Butler
A native Nashvillian with an MS in nurse anesthesia, interior design has been Theresa Butler’s calling since she was 12 years old. The pandemic ignited her desire to change careers and spend more time doing what she loves – interior design!
Theresa’s passion stems from her desire to design spaces that reflect her clients’ personalities and lifestyles. She finds joy in discovering what makes clients happy and bringing it to life through their homes. Blending traditional elegance with modern flair, Theresa Butler Interiors meticulously curates spaces that are not only visually stunning but also meet the practical needs of clients, reflecting her belief that true beauty lies in the harmony between form and function.
Since 2001, Theresa has developed a successful career in interior design in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition, her work extends beyond her business to give back to her community through charitable auctions of her custom-made decorative pillows, crafting blankets for hospice patients, medical mission trips, and more. Theresa’s dedication to her community and unwavering commitment to spreading kindness and compassion are a testament to the transformative power of art.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Perfect happiness is living in a curated space that creates peace, belonging, and a sense of calm that nurtures the soul. It’s a sanctuary where you feel truly at home, surrounded by what you love.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My son Justin is, without question, my greatest accomplishment. His authentic kindness radiates, and without trying, he reveals to me the beauty of this life we share every day.

What profession does your alter ego have?
I love woodworking. My alter ego is a furniture designer, creating beautifully crafted, high-end, and thought-provoking pieces.
The project you will never forget.
The design I will never forget is my personal living room. It is full of pieces that I love and a painting that I created for my partner.

Your favorite business tool or resource.
My favorite business tool is the Bosch Laser Measure–it’s so handy!
The most timeless design.
To me, timeless design is deeply personal. It’s not a one-size-fits-all concept of what’s “timeless,” but rather an experience or emotion that each client feels when they inhabit their space—a space that connects with their own life story.

The biggest design faux pas.
Design lacking intentionality or preparation.
Your design motto.
Our designs aren’t influenced by trends—they’re shaped by you. Our mission is to craft spaces that authentically reflect your vision.
Our publisher, KOKET, sells statement décor. If you were to design a room around one of their pieces, which would it be, and why?
It was so hard to pick just one, so I picked two! I am obsessed with gorgeous lighting. The Gia Chandelier would be a show stopper in an entryway, or I can see a pair of these in a large dining room. They are the jewels of the space and a wonderful conversation piece.
Who doesn’t love a jaw-dropping wallpaper moment!? The KOKET Peacock Organic Feather Wallpaper is so dreamy and whimsical!
Love Happens when…
…you recognize that the connection and time you shared with someone was a gift, an honor, and a privilege..
