Redhu’s work explores the expression and journey of human emotions, capturing the intricate and often tumultuous experiences that define human existence. Her art is characterized by its bold use of color and dynamic composition, creating an energetic and joyful visual narrative.

Having always wondered, “what if” about being singed with an art gallery and having an actual show by said gallery, when this Group Show with Sangita Rajani’s The Art Qurious was planned, I was in too much of a daze to actually do anything. Thankfully, for an art show, apart from painting the art and being present for the viewings, there isn’t much else that’s required of the artist.

Heavy rains notwithstanding, it was a beautiful blue-sky day with clouds and high humidity. Leaving the air-conditioning required commitments. There were several times that I had tears rolling down my face. It was like I had run into a brick wall of feelings. I hugged that wall fiercely and embraced it head-on.

Beginning September, it has been a whirlwind for me. Moving to Australia was unexpected. I am writing this from my desk in the flat-share that I now live in, in Adelaide, South Australia. All my existing original art is at The Art Qurious in New Delhi and Sangita is holding private viewings for the work of all the artists that she represents. I’m a bit sad to be missing the action and grateful that an art-champion like Sangita has my back and continues to do the heavy lifting, no matter where in the world I am.

I am writing this to document this dream-come-true for my own benefit and also to share this with art galleries in Adeliade and Australia, where I will be sending my expression-of-interest to, for representation.

Friends showed up in full support, someone even got me a bottle of wine! Complete strangers wanted to know all the whys and hows. How did I paint those lines freehand? What inspires me? Why did I choose only circular canvases? It left me in wonder and amazement at how much I can still talk, given the right circumstances.

These are all photographs from Travancore Palace, where the preview and show took place. Photographs are a mix of my own and of Kuntal, who was the photographer at the event.

Below, a closer look at some of my paintings at the show. I paint with acrylic markers on circular stretched canvases.
